EA has confirmed that Battlefield V is in the works and that the official announcement is set for the 23rd of May. However ahead of the official unveiling, it seems that the company has teased via Twitter that the upcoming game could have a World War II setting.

Given that Battlefield 1 was based on World War I, at least to a certain extent, we suppose it doesn’t really come as a surprise that Battlefield V could be based on World War II, or at least draw some inspiration from it. The teaser trailer is rather dark and a bit serious so it will be interesting to see the direction that EA will be taking with this game.

Recent rumors have also suggested that this year’s Battlefield could be Bad Company 3 and while EA did confirm the logo of the upcoming game, they were a bit scant on the details. Also based on what EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson said during the company’s earnings report, Battlefield V will feature single-player mode.

This is unlike the recently announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 which was confirmed not to have single-player. We also have to wonder given the popularity of battle royale style games, will EA be adopting a similar mode for Battlefield V’s multiplayer? We guess we’ll have to wait and see, so check back with us tomorrow for the details.
