Samsung’s Bixby virtual assistant has been limited to its smartphones only so far but it appears that the company may bring it to its wearable devices as well. A new report claims that Samsung is going to ship Bixby with the Gear S4. If it’s accurate, the Gear S4 would be the first Samsung smartwatch to feature its virtual assistant.

The successor to Samsung’s Gear S3 is due in a few weeks. There have been some reports about what this smartwatch may bring to the table. The full specs list hasn’t surfaced as yet but it’s expected to feature a bigger battery.

The report mentions that Bixby is going to be onboard the Gear S4. This will let users control their smartwatch using just voice commands. Bixby already lets users do pretty much all they can by actually touching the display with just their voice commands on smartphones so it’s likely going to offer a similar experience on the smartwatch as well.

It won’t really surprise anyone to see that Bixby will be coming to the Gear S4. It was only a matter of time before the company expanded its assistant to more devices and the Gear S4 is a perfect contender for the virtual assistant.

Samsung is expected to launch the Gear S4 in September. It will be available in both LTE and Wi-Fi only variants.
