The Jaguar E-Type is a classic and iconic sports car. It’s the definition of a cool car. It captured customers’ imagination back in the ’60s and ’70s and remains a darling for collectors. If you haven’t been able to get your hands on one yet, which might prove to be difficult unless you have very deep pockets, you will be interested in finding out that Jaguar is doing a limited run relaunch of the E-Type. However, it has been reincarnated as an electric car.
Jaguar had shown this as an electric concept car last year and it has decided to bring the concept to life. The British car manufacturer has said that the electric E-Type will be available starting in the summer of 2020.
Even though it will look like the iconic car from decades past, it’s actually going to be more high-tech. It’s also going to have better acceleration thanks to the battery-powered engine. The 40kWh battery will offer a 170 mile range, according to the company.
Jaguar will also let existing E-Type owners opt for an electric conversion which will be fully reversible. So if they want to go back to the truly original experience after seeing what the fuss is all about with electric, that will be possible as well.
Jaguar hasn’t said how much it’s going to charge for this electric E-Type.
