In the DCEU, we’ve gotten a Batman movie, we’ve gotten a Superman movie, we’ve gotten a Wonder Woman movie, and there is a Flash movie in the works, and the Aquaman movie is set for a release later this year. For fans of DC, it looks like we can add another movie to the list in the form of a standalone Supergirl movie.

This is according to a report from Deadline where they are reporting that Oren Uziel will be the one working on the movie’s script. For those unfamiliar, Supergirl is the cousin of Clark Kent, also known as Superman. In fact Supergirl currently has her own TV series on CBS where she is portrayed by actress Melissa Benoist.

It is unclear if this Supergirl movie will be part of the DCEU and if it is, how it plays into the current timeline. It is also unclear if Superman will make an appearance in the movie, although if it does follow the TV series then he might not make an appearance, or if he does his role might not be a major one.

There is no word on when the movie will be launched, but given that the script is still being worked on, chances are it might be a while before we see anything concrete. In the meantime in addition to the movies we mentioned above, there are still a few more DC movies in the works, such as a standalone Joker movie that will explore the origins of the character.
