There are obvious advantages to subscribing to an unlimited plan with your carrier, namely in the form of unlimited data. However if you’re a Verizon Unlimited customer, it seems that you’ve just been given an additional perk in the form of a free six month subscription to Apple Music, which is available to both new and current subscribers.

According to Verizon’s vice president of marketing Angie Klein, “This first-of-its-kind offer is just the first step in an exclusive partnership with Apple. It gives our customers exactly what they want: Apple’s best-in-class music streaming experience, paired with an unlimited plan tailored to them, on the network they deserve.”

She adds, “And now that you can mix and match our unlimited plans, every person in your family can stream worry-free on the unlimited plan they need, without paying for things they don’t – and enjoy all the music they want for six months free with Apple Music with this exclusive offer in the U.S.”

Apple Music already offers customers a free three month trial, so if you tack this free six month subscription on, you would be getting almost an entire year for free. This offer will be kicking off on the 16th of August, after which customers can sign up for the free subscription via Verizon’s website. Once the six months are up, users are free to cancel their subscription or continue subscribing at $9.99 a month.
