Searching and locating a gas station on Google Maps is pretty easy. However as we’re seeing more car owners make the shift towards electric or plug-in hybrids, it means that instead of searching for gas stations, these drivers are now searching for EV charging stations instead, which at the moment aren’t quite as ubiquitous just yet.

However the good news is that if you use Google Maps, it seems that Google has made some changes in which the app will now be listing EV charging station info. “A quick search for keywords like ‘ev charging’ or ‘EV charging stations’ will display the nearest supported stations. To help you make a quick decision about which station to use, we’ll show you information about the business where the station is located, the types of ports available, charging speeds, and how many ports there are.”

These locations will come with features similar to reviews of locations on Google Maps, where users can find photos of the location, ratings, and also reviews of the place, along with questions and answers that are user-submitted. Google adds that business locations that have charging stations will also feature a link where it will provide more information about the chargers so drivers know whether or not they can charge their vehicles at those locations.
