It has been a few years since we have been hearing that Samsung is working on a foldable smartphone. The company is yet to release it but at least it has confirmed the handset’s existence. A new report out of South Korea suggests that the company will provide a preview of its foldable smartphone in November.

Samsung is expected to preview the foldable smartphone at its annual developer conference in the first week of November. Previous reports have also hinted at this possibility. Samsung isn’t expected to release this device until early next year, though.

A Samsung official cited in the report says that “We may provide partial information of the foldable phone at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) in November, but the finished product won’t be available there.” So a sneak peek might be in order at the event.

DJ Koh, the boss of Samsung’s mobile division, has previously said that Samsung intends to reveal its foldable smartphone within this year. It wants to do that so that no other manufacturer can lay claim to having unveiled the world’s first true foldable smartphone.

The upcoming Samsung Developer Conference is going to take place on November 7th and 8th in San Francisco, California. The company will focus on its software advancements at this event and also showcase its vision for the Internet of Things and its Bixby assistant.
