Having exclusive games is a good way to get customers to hop onto your device/platform. Now we’ve seen how Niantic has enjoyed huge success with Pokemon GO, but it looks like the company is now setting their sights on other popular franchises. According to a report from The Inquirer, Niantic could be developing a Harry Potter game that could be exclusive to Samsung.

The report claims that Samsung will be investing $40 million into Niantic where the company will help develop exclusive titles on their behalf, and the Harry Potter game is said to be one of them. Harry Potter games aren’t actually new, but what would make this title potentially different from the competition is the inclusion of the use of the S Pen stylus found on Samsung’s Note series of phones..

It is expected that the S Pen could be used as a wand which means that gamers will have new ways of interacting the game beyond the touchscreen. This is actually not the first time we’ve heard that Niantic is developing a Harry Potter game. Such a game was announced last year, but apparently this particular version of the game will be a reworked version of that game and will be exclusive to Samsung’s phones.

Take it with a grain of salt for now, but the Galaxy S10 announcement which is set for early 2019 could be a good platform for Samsung and Niantic to announce the game, or at least reveal that they are working on it.
