As some of you might have heard, Netflix seems to be on a cancelling spree of sorts where they cancelled three of their Marvel TV series – Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil. Based on this, we wouldn’t be surprised if Jessica Jones and The Punisher were to eventually get cancelled as well, thus ridding Netflix of all Marvel shows.

However for those who are fans of the cancelled series, you might be interested to learn that Disney isn’t closed to the idea of potentially reviving them. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney exec Kevin Mayer was asked about whether or not Disney could revive the Marvel shows that Netflix had cancelled, to which Mayer responded by saying, “They are very high-quality shows. We haven’t yet discussed that, but I would say that’s a possibility.”

Note that Mayer’s comments aren’t a guarantee that the shows will be revived, and if they might continue to feature the same cast, but at the very least it shows that Disney isn’t closed to the idea. That being said, we probably shouldn’t expect to see them launch anytime soon. A previous report revealed that as part of the deal between Netflix and Disney, the characters from those series aren’t allowed to be used in non-Netflix series or films for two years after their cancellation.

This means that it will be at least late 2020 or early 2021 that we will see Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil in any Disney or Marvel series.
