Several months ago, there was a report that suggested that actor Henry Cavill was done playing as Superman. Combine that with reports of Ben Affleck also apparently done in his role as Batman, it felt like the DCEU was in a bit of trouble as two of its stars and admittedly the more popular heroes could be on their way out.

While we can’t speak for Affleck, it appears that Cavill’s role as Superman isn’t quite done yet. This is according to actor and his fellow co-star in the Justice League movie, Jason Momoa, who told Entertainment Tonight during the premiere of Aquaman that Cavill had not hung up his cape yet. According to his response when asked about it, the actor said, “He’s absolutely not. He loves the character and he’s not, 100%.”

It had actually been refuted before that Cavill was done as Superman. Cavill’s manager Dany Garcia had previously tweeted, “Be peaceful, the cape is still in his closet. @wbpictures has been and continues to be our partners as they evolve the DC Universe.” Warner Bros. had also issued a statement that also refuted the previous reports.

“While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged.” That being said, unfortunately there is no word on when we can expect to see Cavill return as Superman, especially with Cavill currently busy in his role as Geralt in Netflix’s The Witcher series.
