Samsung released its first smartphone with a triple camera system at the back in 2018. It did so long after many other manufacturers adopted such systems on their devices. Samsung did get a leg up on them by releasing the very first smartphone with a quad camera at the back. It goes without saying that we’ll be seeing such systems on future Samsung handsets one of which is going to be its highly anticipated foldable phone. It’s now expected to feature three rear cameras.

A report out of South Korea claims that the foldable Samsung phone that’s expected to be released this year is going to ship with three rear cameras.

The specifics of the camera system aren’t mentioned in the report but it does say that the system will be similar to that of the Galaxy A7 (2018). Samsung’s first triple camera handset features a primary sensor, an ultra-wide lens, and a depth sensor.

That may be the setup that we get on the foldable smartphone as well, whenever it does arrive. Samsung did show off its foldable display panel at its developers’ conference in November but it’s yet to confirm precisely when it plans on launching the foldable smartphone. It hasn’t even said which markets the handset will be offered in.
