Last year the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse animated movie was launched to great success. Many seemed to love the movie, although not surprising given Spider-Man’s popularity. For those who enjoyed the movie and wouldn’t mind seeing more of it, you could be in luck as Sony could be considering creating TV show spinoffs based around it.

This is according to a recent profile of Sony’s CEO Kenichiro Yoshida by the New York Times (via IGN) in which it was hinted that Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is being considered as a potential candidate for a TV show. However as IGN has pointed out, TV shows might not be the only thing Sony is considering.

Apparently more movies based on the Spider-Verse are also being considered where we could be looking at more spinoffs, one of which is said to be an all-female spinoff which would more than likely star Spider-Gwen who was voiced by Hailee Steinfeld in the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie.

Given that the Spider-Man franchise has been going on for decades and with there being so many versions of the character, it does feel like there could be a lot of stories left to tell. However how this could fit or potentially clash with the MCU is unclear, or if it is expected to exist as its own thing. In the meantime Spider-Man: Far From Home is expected to be released later this year following the Avengers: Endgame.
