According to the rumors, Apple’s long-awaited AirPower wireless charging mat could be announced this week. Whether or not that is true remains to be seen as Apple has yet to formally announce or confirm anything, but if there is one thing we do know for sure, it is that the accessory has not been cancelled.

This is according to a tweet by Chris Caine (via 9to5Mac) who tweeted out an image of the AirPods with the wireless charging case where as you can see in the image above, the AirPower is depicted on the box itself. This confirms that the product is still very much alive and well, and that if it is on the box then there is a good chance that it could be announced soon, like this week as the rumors suggest.

The second-gen AirPods was launched last week where it came with a new H1 chip and also a wireless charging case (which can also be bought separately). This case can be charged using the AirPower charging mat, hence the diagram on the back of the packaging. To fuel speculation of the AirPower’s impending launch, new images were also spotted on Apple’s website which showed off the charging mat.

In any case hopefully, we’ll learn more about the AirPower later this week so do check back with us for more details.
