If you’re thinking about rewatching Avengers: Endgame, you’ll be pleased to learn that according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, he has confirmed that the movie will actually be returning to theaters where those who missed out on it can watch it, or those who want to rewatch it will be able to do so.

As to why anyone would want to rewatch it? According to Feige, this is because the re-release of the movie will come with extra footage that did not make it to the cut of the original release. Feige was quoted as saying, “We are doing that. I don’t know if it’s been announced. And I don’t know how much… Yeah, we’re doing it next weekend.”

As to how much extra footage we can expect remains to be seen, or rather, you’ll have to watch it for yourself to find out. The re-release is expected to arrive next weekend so if you don’t have plans, now might be a good time to make them. It will also help serve as a “refresher” of sorts ahead of Spider-Man: Far From Home which will be released in July.

Of course, Marvel isn’t doing this just for the sake of fans. We expect that this is probably part of their plan to help boost overall ticket sales which could allow the movie to actually overtake Avatar. James Cameron’s movie still holds the global box office record with $2.788 billion, and Avengers: Endgame is pretty close at $2.743 billion, which means that there is a very good chance that this re-release could help it topple Avatar.
