Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 is expected to be officially announced next month, but for those who are eagerly-anticipating the handset, additional leaks have revealed a new feature that will be headed to the phone. If the reports are to be believed, it has been suggested that the Note 10 could come with its own IR blaster.

This is according to a tweet by reliable leakster Evan Blass (private Twitter account) who shared an image that allegedly depicts the IR blaster feature of the phone. Exactly what this IR blaster will be used for remains to be seen, but so far based on other phones that also had the feature, one of its uses is to control your television and certain household devices that rely on IR controllers.

Other than that, we’re not sure if Samsung might have some kind of revolutionary new way of utilizing the IR blaster, but given that Samsung makes devices like TVs and air-conditioner units, it makes sense that the Note 10 could also be used to control them. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but Samsung is expected to officially announce the Note 10 on the 7th of August.

The phone will be the latest flagship from the company and is expected to be offered in at least two variants: a regular Note 10 and a Note 10+. There have also been rumors that there could be more than two variants, where there could be a “Pro” model and maybe even a 5G version.
