When it comes to camera development, Apple typically reserves it for its iPhones. However, sometimes certain features do trickle down to the iPad, although admittedly no one really uses their iPads for photography. But if you do, then you might be interested in the latest rumor that suggests some serious upgrades are coming.

This is according to a report from Macotakara who cites a Chinese component supplier who claims that the next-gen iPad Pro is expected to come with a triple camera setup on its back. For those wondering why this rumor sounds so familiar, it is because it has been rumored that this year’s iPhones could come with a triple camera setup, so this rumor suggests that it could be coming to all of Apple’s mobile devices.

We’re not sure if there will be much use to having a triple camera on the iPad. After all, the iPad’s cameras haven’t exactly been known to be particularly good. Sure, they are good enough to snap some photos, but we wouldn’t exactly say they are on par with the iPhone. Plus, most iPad users seem to be perfectly fine with the current cameras.

Also, we imagine that an improvement in cameras could also possibly make the iPads more expensive. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we should have more details in the coming months.
