Competitive online games can be rather stressful, especially if you’re new to the game and have no idea what you’re doing. This can result in players quitting and giving up before they’ve really had a chance to play the game properly. To help ease newbies into Fortnite, Epic has recently announced that they will be introducing bots to the game.

According to Epic, “In the next Season, we are adding Bots to Fortnite. They will behave similarly to normal players and will help provide a better path for players to grow in skill. Bots will work in conjunction with the new matchmaking system, and as your skill improves, you’ll face fewer Bots.”

Basically, these bots will be in games where newbies are present to help make it easier for them to learn the game, but as you get better, less bots will be included. Epic also states that bots will not be part of the Competitive playlists, so for more seasoned players, this will basically not affect you at all.

This decision seems to be causing quite a bit of controversy amongst players, although if it does work out the way Epic intends, it should not affect seasoned and professional players, but we’ll have to wait until the next Season to find out.
