The other day, Apple made a surprising announcement at its iPhone event. Typically the company reserves its new iPad announcements for much later in the year, but for some reason, the company decided to launch a new 10.2-inch entry-level iPad at its event. One of the changes they made is the introduction of the Smart Connector.

This means that you could use it with Apple’s Smart Keyboard accessory. However, if the Smart Keyboard is a bit too pricey for your liking, you’ll be pleased to learn that Logitech has announced two new keyboard cases for the iPad. This comes in the form of the Logitech Rugged Folio and the Logitech Slim Folio.

This will appeal to different types of users, where the Rugged Folio will offer up spill and dirt resistant resistant features, meaning that you can use it without worrying about it getting dirty. However, for those who want a slimmer profile, that’s where the Slim Folio comes in. Both of these keyboard accessories will connect through the Smart Connector, so you don’t have to worry about it running out of battery.

The Rugged Folio will be priced at $140 and will be available for purchase in October, while the Slim Folio will be priced at $99 and will be released in November.
