The Samsung Galaxy Fold will be officially making its way to the US on the 27th of September. Now, the phone is pretty expensive and comes with all kinds of warning labels to users telling them how to take care of the phone. However, in the event that you do ruin the screen, it seems that you will be able to replace it, although it will cost you less than you think.

According to a report from The Verge, customers who for whatever reason end up damaging the screen on their Galaxy Fold handset will be eligible for a special one-time-only out-of-warranty replacement where they’ll have to fork out $149 for it, which is actually relatively affordable when you consider the overall price of the handset. However, the catch is that to take advantage of this discounted offer, you’ll need to purchase it before the 31st of December, 2019.

To be fair, the tech is still in its infancy stages so it’s not completely unreasonable for Samsung to ask early adopters to be gentle. As The Verge noted in its unboxing of the phone, it comes with extensive warning messages and notices to users, telling them how to take care of the phone, what to do and not to do when touching the display, keeping it away from debris and liquids, and so on.

Samsung did encounter some build issues with the review units of the handset, which is why it was recalled and the launch was delayed. They have made some improvements since, although as we said, this is first-gen tech and as such, some allowances need to be made.
