In the workplace, apps such as Slack and Microsoft Teams are currently the preferred choice of communication amongst co-workers. Google has attempted to break into the enterprise sector by relaunching Hangouts and trying to shift its focus to business users, but it looks like the company could have something else in the works.

According to a report from The Information (paywall), Google is reportedly developing an all-in-one messenger app that would combine Gmail, Google Drive, Hangouts Meet, and Hangouts Chat, along with one more unnamed Google app into a single entity. It is expected that this will be a one-stop-shop for enterprise users who are looking to communicate with each other, check their emails, and so on.

Users are also expected to be able to maintain access to existing cloud storage options as well as their current email addresses. This app is rumored to be part of Google’s G Suite which is typically geared towards those in the workplace. There is no word on when this particular app will launch, but like we said, since it is rumored to be more for G Suite users, non-enterprise users probably won’t be able to access it anyway.

Take it with a grain of salt, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information for when the app does eventually launch.
