If the rumors are to be believed, Apple is working on a new accessory called the AirTags. These are essentially a competitor to Tile, a Bluetooth-like tracker that can be attached to all manner of objects to help users keep track of their items and to locate them if they are lost. Now thanks to a report from Mac Otakara, more details about the accessory have emerged.

According to the report, it claims that the AirTags are rumored to be waterproof. This means that they can go underwater and continue to operate without damage to it. This should, in theory, increase the use of the accessory where users might find more ways to take advantage of it in different scenarios.

The report also goes on to claim that the AirTags will feature a magnetic charging system similar to the Apple Watch. In case you’re unfamiliar with  how the Apple Watch charges, it features a magnetic charger that wirelessly connects to the smartwatch underneath it, thus eliminating the need for it to be plugged and unplugged.

There is no word on when Apple plans on announcing the AirTags, but a recent report suggested that it could be released this summer, hinting that we could either see it announced at Apple’s rumored 31st of March event, or maybe at WWDC 2020 which takes place in the summer.
