One of the persistent rumors we’ve been hearing is that Apple is working on a set of tracking accessories called the AirTags. In fact, some have speculated that the circular rings in the Apple iPhone 12 event invite could be hinting at the AirTags, but as it turns out, that may no longer be the case.

This is because according to a tweet by Jon Prosser, who has proven pretty accurate in the past, is that the AirTags launch has been delayed. Instead of being announced at the upcoming iPhone event, Apple might push back the launch where it has been suggested that it will only be making an appearance in March 2021.

It is unclear why Apple might have delayed the launch, although to be fair given that Apple has yet to officially announce or confirm the existence of the device, it’s hard to know what the company’s plans truly are. Apple typically hosts one event in the early part of the year, so it is possible that the AirTags could be announced then.

Either way, if you were hoping to see the accessory next week, then prepare to be disappointed. It is a bit of a pity since we’re sure that many are wondering how Apple plans to truly take advantage of the U1 chip embedded in the iPhone 11 series, but for now, we’ll just have to wait.
