For a while, there have been rumors that Samsung could be looking to retire its Galaxy Note series. While the series has done well, it seems that Samsung might want to move on from it. While some rumors have claimed that this could happen in 2021, a new rumor is suggesting otherwise.

A tweet by @cozyplanes claims that 2021 will still see the launch of a new Note handset, but it could possibly be its last as 2022 is when the company will retire it for good. Ross Young from DisplaySearch echoes the tweet, claiming that this is what he has heard from his sources as well.

One of the unique features of the Note series is the inclusion of the S Pen stylus along with exclusive features that allows the phone to take advantage of the stylus in more ways than just a regular pointing tool. However, there have been rumors claiming that the S Pen might actually be included in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 which will most likely be launched next year.

This would suggest that Samsung is looking to keep the S Pen, but bring it over to another device. When you think about how big the screen of the Galaxy Z Fold is, it actually makes sense for it to support a stylus. Either way, it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now, but how would you feel if the Note series were to be killed off?
