Google has several ways for users to keep in touch and communicate with each other. One of those ways is through Google Chat, but that usually means having to switch between apps. However, Google is making it easier because according to 9to5Google, a recent update to the Gmail app on iOS has integrated Chat into the app.

As you can see in the image above, Google Chat now has its own dedicated tab at the bottom of the app. The addition of Chat joins other Google communications services such as Rooms and Meet. Google did not announce when this took place but users are reporting that they are seeing the changes.

This means that the changes Google made was server-side which means that there is nothing users need to do on their end. If you don’t see it yet, make sure that you have the latest version of Gmail installed on your iOS device, and if that doesn’t help, then we guess you just have to wait for Google to eventually roll out the changes for you.

This change will be great for those who rely heavily on Google’s chat services, so if that’s you, then this is an update you’ll want to keep an eye out for.
