Apple and Samsung are rivals even though both companies do work together, so every now and then to see Samsung take out an ad to poke fun at Apple’s iPhones doesn’t really come as a surprise. The latest ad from the South Korean tech giant comes in the form of Samsung making fun of Apple’s lack of digital zoom for the iPhone.

In case you didn’t know, one of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a 100x digital zoom, whereas the iPhone 12 Pro Max can only zoom in 12x at most. The company also pokes fun at the iPhone 12’s camera sensor, which compared to Samsung’s 108MP main camera sensor feels downright small.

These aren’t really fair comparisons because first of all, not everyone needs 108MP resolution photos. Secondly, digital zoom is basically cropping which means that you do lose some details in the process versus more traditional optical zooms. It can be useful, without a doubt, but like we said, it’s not a very fair or accurate comparison.

However, like we said, Samsung does like to poke fun at Apple’s seemingly lack of features for their iPhones, so we doubt that this friendly rivalry will be going away anytime soon.
