Apps such as LINE are known for their stickers which users use in chats. This sticker feature has since expanded to other apps such as WhatsApp, although in WhatsApp’s case, it has always felt a bit lacking especially since users had to manually search for stickers, whereas with LINE, it can suggest stickers based on what you write.

However, the good news for WhatsApp users is that according to a report from WABetaInfo, it appears that WhatsApp is now testing out a sticker suggestion feature. In the video above that demonstrates it in its current iteration, users type out a word and tap the sticker button, after which it will then show users stickers that might be based on the word they wrote.

Something to take note of is that this seems to only work with official WhatsApp sticker packs. For those who create their own stickers or use third-party sticker packs, this doesn’t seem to work, at least for now. That being said, we have to say that this implementation still feels a tad clunky.

LINE’s suggestions popup as you type them which makes it easier. This involves several steps which can slow the process down, but hey, we suppose it’s better than nothing. Plus, this is a beta so it is possible that further down the road, things could change. There is currently no word on when these changes are expected to roll out to the public.
