With the AirPods and AirPods Pro, Apple has designed them in such a way that they look like Apple’s EarPods with the wires cut off, although the AirPods Pro does have a slightly shorter stem design. However, it seems that with the upcoming AirPods Pro 2, Apple might actually adopt a design that they’ve already used.

According to the latest rumors, Apple is said to be exploring the idea of using the design of the Beats Studio Buds for the AirPods Pro 2. This means that there is a chance that the earphones will do away with the stem completely. This will be a welcome change for those who felt that the stem was kind of ugly.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also recently offered his predictions in which he claims that the earphones will most likely debut in 2022. Not much else is known about the AirPods Pro 2, but some have speculated that Apple could incorporate some health related features and sensors into it.

Just recently, an Apple exec revealed that the company could see the potential of devices like the AirPods being used as a health device. While it wasn’t a confirmation, it did seem to hint at what some have been saying for the past few years. Either way, with a 2022 launch, it looks like we’re going to be in for a wait.
