It has been rumored for a while that Apple is working on a new MacBook Pro refresh. For those who might have been holding out for it, you will be interested to learn that a report from DigiTimes has revealed that the mass production of the new laptops has begun. The report claims that Apple expects to hit 800,000 monthly shipments by the end of November.

The laptops in question are the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. In case you haven’t been following the rumors, Apple is apparently set to introduce a new 14-inch MacBook Pro. The 16-inch model, which was introduced a couple of years ago, is also expected to undergo a redesign that will make it more in line with the company’s existing lineup.

Both computers are expected to be powered by the Apple Silicon, but at this point in time it is unclear which chipset it will be using. Obviously it will not be the M1 which debuted last year, but whether or not it will come in the form of the M1X or M2 remains to be seen, but given that these are supposed to be more powerful versions of the MacBook Pro, we’re hoping it will be the M2.

There is no word when the laptops are expected to be announced, but chances are it will take place after the iPhone event in September.
