There are many messenger platforms out there that are available on both smartphone and tablet. There is Facebook Messenger, Telegram, LINE, Discord, Skype, and more. However, one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, WhatsApp, has been conspicuously missing from that list for the longest time ever.

However, there is some good news on that front because according to a tweet from WABetaInfo, more details about the WhatsApp app for iPad have been revealed. According to them, the app being developed for the iPad is a native app. This means that users won’t need to open a browser to access WhatsApp on their tablets.

It will also be a standalone app where it can work independently from the iPhone app. This is versus the current method where users will need to have a smartphone linked to the desktop app in order for it to work. By making it independent on the smartphone app, it should allow WhatsApp to be usable on more devices at once.

That being said, WhatsApp for the iPad isn’t available yet. We know that the company is working on bringing about multi-device functionality, which is linked to the iPad app, but when exactly it will be available remains to be seen.
