It hasn’t really been much of a secret that Apple is interested in developing a device aimed at augmented reality/virtual reality. When exactly it will launch remains to be seen, but the latest rumors are claiming that it could actually arrive as soon as next year.

This is why it doesn’t really come as a surprise to learn that Apple is currently looking to hire more engineers for its own AR/VR framework. This is according to Hayden Lee, an Apple AR/VR Software Engineering Manager, who shared the job posting on Twitter.

According to the job description, “Apple’s Technology Development Group is seeking a Software Engineer to help architect and implement networking frameworks and APIs for our next-generation interactive computing platforms. This engineer will enhance the capabilities and performance of AR/VR systems through the development of distributed systems, and a broad range of applications, including machine learning, computer vision, and multimedia processing.”

If anything, this seems to more or less lend credence to the rumors that Apple is indeed developing something related to AR/VR. To date, the company hasn’t really done much on the AR/VR front, at least nothing particularly noteworthy, so it will be exciting to see what the company will come up with, and more importantly, how well its customers will react to it.
