Apple is reportedly expanding its foldable device lineup beyond phones like the iPhone Duo, with industry insiders suggesting the company is developing its first large-screen foldable tablet, tentatively referred to as the iPad Duo. According to reports from prominent supply chain sources on Weibo, this upcoming device may draw inspiration from foldable concepts like the Huawei MateBook Fold to deliver a massive display experience.

Industry leaks indicate that the iPad Duo is projected to feature a flexible display measuring between eighteen and twenty inches when fully unfolded. To ensure durability and a premium feel, the screen is expected to utilize ultra-thin glass supplied by Gorilla Glass, while the hardware chassis will reportedly be handled by General Interface Solutions. Furthermore, analysts speculate that the tablet may incorporate advanced nanotexture coating technologies—similar to those praised in other foldable concepts—to minimize the visibility of the central crease in the folding area.

Market projections suggest a potential launch window around 2028. However, due to anticipated high production costs and manufacturing complexities, initial shipment volumes are expected to remain constrained between five hundred thousand and one million units during the first generation. This positions the initial release as a niche product tailored primarily for early adopters and technology enthusiasts rather than the mass market.

While Apple has not yet issued official confirmations regarding specific hardware timelines or pricing structures, supply chain tracking indicates that foldable form factors remain a strategic focus for future product development. As research and component manufacturing continue to evolve across the consumer electronics sector, further details regarding software integration and formal specifications are anticipated closer to the projected commercial debut.
