Green Samba electric water vehicle for the masses

Silveira Group from Ohio has claimed that their all-electric personal watercraft known as the Green Samba could very well be the first commercially viable vehicle of its kind. Capable of touching a 65mph top speed, it does so sans a noisy diesel or petrol engine, which in turn are replaced by twin direct drive electric propulsion pods. Of course, the lack of noise pollution when you’re at the beach is one thing, but how about swimmers who don’t know you’re bearing down on them without realizing it due to the silence? Expect the latest prototype to be ready by August, where a consumer version should follow shortly thereafter.
