Samsung Introduces Its SMT-i9100 Android Tablet For KDDI Japan

While all the fuss has been about the freshly-announced Samsung Galaxy Tab recently, Japanese carrier KDDI is now offering a new Samsung Android tablet, though it’s not the Galaxy Tab. The SMT-i9100 looks and offers very different specifications, especially since it lacks a front-facing camera. Pricing wasn’t mentioned, but it will be released early next year while NTT DoCoMo will be offering the Galaxy Tab. Specifications of the SMT-i9100 include:

  • 7-inch WSVGA 1024 x 600 pixel display
  • 512MB of RAM
  • Ocean Observation user interface instead of TouchWiz
  • 2-megapixel rear camera
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • 2-hour battery life
  • Wi-Fi b/g/n
  • 4GB of flash storage
  • microSD card slot up to 32GB
