apple-iwatch-concept-2As you guys might have heard, Apple’s iWatch is supposedly due for a release this year, although when exactly that will be remains to be seen. Last we heard, LG was supposedly close to inking a deal with Apple to produce the display panels for the iWatch, leaving Samsung completely out of the picture, and now thanks to new reports out of Korea, it has been revealed that LG has indeed landed an exclusive deal with Apple which will make them the sole manufacturer of the iWatch’s displays.

According to the rumors, the display panels will reportedly be the same as the ones used in the LG G Flex smartphone which you might recall is LG’s take on a smartphone with a dramatically curved display. If this is true, it means that unlike other smartwatches which typically sports a flatter sort of display, Apple’s iWatch will be curved which also seems to corroborate earlier rumors as well. It should be noted that the original report has since been removed for reasons unbeknownst to us, but in any case since it is a rumor, do take it with a grain of salt for now.

Apple’s iWatch has been rumored to be facing some manufacturing issues which could hint at a delay, but hopefully they have managed to sort out those issues since. Some analysts have also predicted that Apple’s iWatch will be the catalyst that sets of the demand for smartwatches, but either way we can’t wait to see what Apple has in store for us for 2014.
