ios+8+mail+notify+meA lot of us receive a ton of email on a daily basis, so instead of having our phones blow up with notifications all day, how about only being notified about certain emails that you want to be notified about? That’s what Apple is planning to allow users to do with iOS 8. According to one of the discoveries made in the Mail app on iOS 8, it seems that Apple has included an option to notify users about certain emails.

All the user would have to do is swipe the email message they want to the left and choose the “More” button, which will then bring up the options listed above to the right, and as you can see, there is a new option called Notify Me. What this does is that it flags that email as a message that you want to be notified about, so whenever you receive a new email in the same thread, your phone will alert you to it.

This is more preferable compared being notified about all sorts of emails, some of which you might not care for. Not to mention this will allow users to disable notifications which could also help save battery life as only the important emails will get through. Sure, there are apps out there who can do something similar, but for those who wanted the default Mail app to have more functionality, we guess now you do. What do you guys think? Is this a feature you’re looking forward to?
