samsung logo 4As it stands, iOS and Android currently dominate the smartphone platform market. However we expect that this will not be forever as one day there will be a new platform that could possibly take over. Could it be Samsung’s Tizen? Perhaps, although they’d actually need to release a Tizen-based smartphone first.

Now according to an earlier rumor, Samsung could be planning on releasing a low-end Tizen device in India come November, and thanks to the folks at SamMobile, details about the upcoming handset have been revealed. Prior to this, Samsung had announced the Samsung Z but it was cancelled.

The Samsung Z had some relatively decent specs but it looks like Samsung will be going even lower with this handset. According to their sources, Samsung’s rumored low-cost Tizen handset is said to sport a 3.2MP rear-facing camera and will offer up dual SIM capabilities. It will also run on Tizen 2.3.

Unfortunately that’s pretty much all SamMobile’s sources had for them which isn’t saying much, but then again a 3.2MP rear-facing camera is hardly the sign of a high-end smartphone. In any case our eyes and ears will be peeled for more info, so check back with us later for the details.
