apple-store-theftIf you wanted to buy an Apple product like a MacBook, iMac, iPhone, or iPad, an Apple Genius will be able to help you with that and answer any technical questions you might have about the product, but will those same Geniuses be the right people to handle the upcoming Apple Watch that appears to be designed as a luxury timepiece?

Well maybe, maybe not, but according to a report from 9to5Mac, they have learnt from internal hiring documents that Apple could be looking to employ retail candidates with a fashion or luxury background, suggesting that these employees could play a role in helping to sell the Apple Watch to potential customers.

Apple’s interest in fashion and luxury products is not new. In fact in the past we have seen Apple hire executives from various fashion and luxury backgrounds, such as Angela Ahrendts who used to be the CEO of Burberry and Paul Deneve, the former CEO of Yves St. Laurent. Of course it remains to be seen how exactly this will play out, so we guess we’ll just have to wait until next year to find out.

In the meantime the Apple Watch’s release has yet to be determined. We have heard the possibility that it could be launched after Chinese New Year while other reports have suggested a 14th of February release.
