The image-sharing website, Imgur is going to unveil a new tool for embedding images, starting from today. The new tool will allow anyone to fetch an image, image caption, uploader information along with number of comments on it, and also its presence on other websites.

On one hand, this update will turn out useful in tracking the image and on the other hand, it also means that now the images will spill out a lot more information than required. The new tool is actually a form of rich “embed” that carries more information than the former one.

Imgur views the new embed as an efficient way to handle copyright and attributions issues (but that’s only viable if we assume that the uploader is the actual of the image).

However, the obvious catch is that it will flash Imgur’s name on the image, which in turn create a bigger brand name for it. Getting your name out there is not a bad thing actually, like Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook, have all started using these rich embeds, and these embeds have turned out to be very useful and important.

Right from social media websites to Image-sharing websites, all these ignite a lot of user conversations, and rich embedding feature helps in spreading the information quickly and widely.

Users can now use these rich embeds on any image on Imgur’s public gallery from today onwards, and the same applies to the posts with multiple photos and comments.

While the main appeal of these rich embeds is to include information from Imgur, but the website will also provide a trimmer unit that will help in stripping out most of the information as per user’s will.
