apple_logoIt is no secret that when it comes to mobile platform dominance, Android is leading the way. This is thanks to its various OEM partners who creates devices ranging from top of the line, all the way down to the bare essentials, thus capturing all kinds of markets in the process. However in terms of individual brands, it seems that Apple is still leading the way.

According to a recent report from comScore, it seems that over in the US, Apple’s market share is still the one to beat as far as smartphones are concerned. In the latest figures for April 2015, it shows that Apple has a market share of 43.1% in the US which is a jump from January 2015 where it was sitting at 41.3%.

This is no doubt great news for the Cupertino company, although it seems that their gain did come at a cost to some of their competitors. For example Samsung’s market share which was 29.3% in January has dropped slightly to 28.6%. This seems to confirm earlier reports that Samsung isn’t actually doing as well as they should with their flagship handsets.

That being said, LG appears to have gain some market share and is coming in third with a market share of 8.4%, an increase from January where it was 8%. Motorola and HTC don’t appear to be doing too well either as both companies have seen their market share dip to 4.9% and 3.7%, down from 5.2% and 3.8% respectively.
