As it stands, most fitness trackers are typically worn around the wrist. Granted there are some fitness trackers that exists as an app and relies on your smartphone’s sensors to collect some basic movement data, and then you have other trackers worn strapped around the chest which helps to collect heart rate (which some argue is more accurate).

However there is a new Kickstarter project that has been launched recently and it is for a pair of headphones called the Kuai. The idea is simple – to allow users to pipe music through the headphones while at the same time being able to collect all sorts of biometric data while the headphones are being worn.

This is a great alternative for users who aren’t a fan of wrist trackers and who wouldn’t mind an all-in-one sort of device. In fact one of the features of the Kuai headphones is that it comes with 8GB of memory to allow users to load music onto them. The headphones themselves will be able to register biometrics such as heart rate, VO2max, distance ran, cadence, speed, pace, and calories.

The headphones will also be water resistant up to 3m and while we’re not sure if they’ll stay on if you swim, it also means that you will be able to give them a quick rinse after a workout session without worrying about damaging it. The project is pretty close to its funding goal so if you’d like to help out, hit up its Kickstarter page for the details.
