It’s not uncommon for Microsoft to cut prices of its Surface tablets to get the sales momentum going again and the company is doing something along the same lines today. For just one day it has discounted the Surface Pro 3 by $200 so you’ll have to hurry if you want to pick one up at this significantly discounted price.

For today only the Core i5 powered 128GB Surface Pro 3 can be purchased for $799 instead of $999, this tablet is powered by a 1.9GHz Core i5 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

The promotion is valid for today only and is available through Microsoft’s retail stores in the United States and Puerto Rico, it’s also available through Microsoft’s online store. Bear in mind that this price will only be available until supplies last.

The last significant price cut for Surface Pro 3 came back in May when Microsoft discounted the Core i7 model with 256Gb storage and 8GB RAM by $150. There’s already a sale on going which applies the same discount to this particular model and the i7 model with 256GB of storage, this promotion runs until August 29th.

This promotion is also a good method for Microsoft to move stock before the successor arrives, the company is expected to launch the Surface Pro 4 tablet later this year, some expect that it will arrive this October.
