samsung chargerIn order to super charge something, a lot of power will be needed, which in turn also means that heat will be generated. Now if you’re looking at Samsung’s new fast charge wireless Qi charger and are wondering if its fast charging ability might result in overheating, you can rest assured because this is something Samsung has taken into consideration.

According to the folks at Android Police who have received an evaluation unit, they noticed that unlike the wireless charging pad for the Galaxy S6, this particular model was noticeably thicker. Upon further inspection, they discovered that this was because the charger actually came with a built-in fan to help cool things down in the event that it got too hot.

Details of the fan was also mentioned inside the instruction manual. This led to speculation that it is possible Samsung could have created the first smartphone charger with a built-in cooling fan. For those hearing about this charger for the first time, the charger is designed for the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

It is meant to help charge your device wirelessly and 30% more quickly than the older model. Now if you’re worried about noise, like the noise you think might be emitted from a computer fan, Android Police claims that it is very quiet and that unless you put it up against your ear, chances are you won’t be able to hear it.
