dell-xps-12While Microsoft might have led the way by creating hybrid devices like the Surface series of tablets with detachable keyboards, it would seem that it’s only in more recent times that they are starting to catch on with other companies, namely Apple with the iPad Pro, and Google with their recently announced Pixel C.

Now if the idea of running iOS or Android doesn’t appeal to you and you don’t want the Surface, would Dell be of interest to you? Earlier in September details of the company’s upcoming Dell XPS 12 tablet was leaked, and now thanks to a new leak, additional details of the device has been revealed.

For starters the tablet is said to be available in two display options. Users can opt for the 4K model which will no doubt be more expensive, or the Full HD one, but both display sizes will remain at 12.5-inches. Under the hood, an Intel Core M Skylake SoC will be driving the tablet and will be accompanied by 4/8GB of RAM.

There will be a variety of SSD options to choose from, along with the support for an SD card. The tablet is also said to be made from a magnesium alloy body so it should be pretty sturdy. The keyboard accessory is rumored to be sold separately as well, so this gives users the option of purchasing a laptop-like device or going full tablet. No word on when it will be released, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
