Apple was recently profiled on Charlie Rose’s 60 Minutes segment and while the profile was interesting, like where it revealed that Apple has 800 people working on the iPhone’s camera, what caught the attention of some was an image of a computer sitting behind Apple’s general counsel Bruce Sewell.

As you can see in the image above, it shows a somewhat large-ish laptop with a very slim profile. This led to speculation that this might be a new computer that Apple is working on that they accidentally leaked to the rest of the world. Unfortunately the truth isn’t as exciting so before you get your hopes up, Apple has since confirmed to TechInsider that the device pictured is in reality not new.

According to Apple’s statement to TechInsider, they have confirmed that the device in question is really the 12-inch MacBook. Now we have to admit that in the screenshot, the device does look bigger than the 12-inch MacBook, but then again it could simply be the perspective of the laptop, not to mention its screen has been angled.

Also it seems highly unlikely that Apple will have unannounced products sitting around in full view during an interview on TV. After what happened with the iPhone 4, we can only imagine that security and the secrecy surrounding unannounced products is tighter than ever, but what do you guys think? Would a 15-inch MacBook be something you might be interested in?
