nd-crossover-model-mockup1They say that sitting in front of your computer all day is bad for your health, and can also lead to problems with your back due to your posture. This is why over the years, standing desks have become so popular, simply because it allows people to continue to do their work at their desks, minus the associated health risks.

Unfortunately for the most part a lot of standing desks we’ve seen, especially those with automation, are expensive and require you to swap out your old desk for a new one, but what if you’d rather not do that? The folks at NextDesk have recently unveiled the CrossOver, which we are calling as a standing desk alternative simply because it’s basically a platform you place on your current desk that elevates your computer.

It does come with mechanical features where at a touch of a button, it will be able to raise itself up or down. When it is down, it can be easily moved and you can use your desk and your computer sitting down, but when it’s time to stand up, press the button and it will elevate itself. There are two options, the regular CrossOver and the Pro model.

The Pro model differs by having another section where you can place your keyboard, which according to NextDesk is more ergonomical. There are a variety of different materials to choose from, like bamboo, natural rubberwood, or recycled wood composite. It is priced starting at $399 and will be available for pre-order on the 28th of January, 2016 via its website.
