The good news for Twitter users is that the social media platform has announced some changes that they will be making to its notification system. One of those changes is the ability to limit notifications to people you follow. “Don’t want to see notifications from everyone? Starting today, everyone will have the ability to limit notifications to only people they follow on mobile and on twitter.com.”
The second change would be what Twitter is calling a “quality filter”. This is a filter that Twitter had begun testing out last year where basically it filters out tweets that the platform does not deem to be of quality material. This could include duplicate tweets (sometimes people accidentally post the same thing twice), automated tweets like those from blogs and so on.
According to Twitter, “It does not filter content from people you follow or accounts you’ve recently interacted with – and depending on your preferences, you can turn it on or off in your notifications settings.” Users will be able to enable/disable these notifications, so pop on over to your settings to check it out.
