It was first reported a couple of weeks ago that Samsung might remove the standard 3.5mm headphone jack from the Galaxy S8. It’s not like this hasn’t been expected given that a similar move has already been made by the likes of Apple and Motorola, to name a few. While there have been contradictory reports about this, there’s a new report out today which claims that Samsung is going to launch new wireless in-ear headphones with the Galaxy S8.

Samsung is said to introduce these new wireless in-ear headphones alongside the Galaxy S8 at its special event in April where it’s going to show off the new flagship.

The report doesn’t confirm whether these headphones will be bundled with the handset itself or if customers will need to purchase them separately as an optional accessory. There’s also the possibility that Samsung might offer them as a pre-order incentive with the new flagship. It has previously offered accessories like the Gear VR headset as a pre-order incentive.

There’s also the possibility that these headphones might feature Harman audio technology. In case you’re unaware, Samsung recently announced its intention to acquire Harman International.

The jury is still out as far as the 3.5mm headphone jack is concerned. Nothing is set in stone as yet so it would be wise to wait and see how this plays out. Samsung was originally expected to unveil the Galaxy S8 at MWC 2017 in February but the launch is now believed to have been delayed to April 2017.
