galaxy-s8-leakA little over a week ago, a photo was leaked online in which it showed off the alleged front panels of the upcoming Galaxy S8. It was hard to tell if those photos were the real deal, but thanks to a post on VentureBeat by famed leakster Evan Blass, new photos have surfaced which shows off the front and back of the phone.

For starters it seems that some of the rumors about the Galaxy S8 might have been proven true in the photo. One of them is that Samsung has ditched the home button with the Galaxy S8, but instead of an optical/ultrasonic fingerprint reader that would have been embedded under the display, Samsung has chosen to put it on the back of the phone.

Its placement is a bit odd because Samsung has decided to place it next to the camera as opposed to the middle of the phone which is what most manufacturers have done. Secondly it also looks like Samsung will be keeping the headphone jack so would-be customers don’t have to worry about looking for a pair of wireless headphones for now.

Also while it’s hard to tell from the photo, it seems that the rumors of the Galaxy S8 coming in 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch sizes are persisting. This makes the phone significantly larger than its predecessor, which kind of begs the question as to where the next Note smartphone will fit in. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but this is probably the clearest look at the Galaxy S8 that we’ve gotten to date.
