Arrested Development achieved the status of a cult classic a long time back. Fans of the show were not happy that Fox decided to axe it from its lineup. They were happy when Netflix decided to bring it back. The online streaming service has since released a season of Arrested Development. It has now confirmed that the Arrested Development season 5 release is going to take place next year.

Original series creator Mitchell Hurwitz is back in the driving seat, reports Variety, and that the entire series cast has signed on for the fifth season. This means that we’ll be seeing Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat all reprise their roles as members of the dysfunctional Bluth family.

Fans have been anxiously waiting for confirmation from Netflix about the fifth season. It has been teased frequently by Netflix and even several cast members who dropped hints that a fifth season is in the pipeline. An official confirmation from Netflix puts fans at ease, they know now that the next season is being developed and will eventually be released.

“Season 4 marked the first foray by Netflix into original comedy programming and this time, the Bluths will collectively be spending more quality time with their millions of fans around the world,” confirmed Ted Sarandos, the chief content officer at Netflix.

All episodes of Arrested Development season 5 will be released on Netflix come 2018. The precise release date will be confirmed next year.
