A very interesting announcement has been made today by Ubisoft and Square Enix. They’ve confirmed an Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy crossover today. The two development teams will be “paying homage to each other’s gaming universes” as part of this new collaboration. To mark the start of this partnership, they have unveiled a piece of artwork at this year’s Gamescom which features Bayek from Assassin’s Creed Origins and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV.

Diehard fans of both series will have noticed the easter eggs that have been hidden by the team to signal the unofficial start of this partnership between the two franchises. One such easter egg was included in the most recent Assassin’s Creed Origins Gamescom trailer.

“This collaboration is the result of being huge fans,” said Ubisoft Montreal game director Ashraf Ismail, adding that “There’s a lot of respect between the two teams and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to pay homage to each other’s work.”

This partnership will kick off on August 30 when Final Fantasy XV players who have obtained the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will receive a familiar Assassin outfit for Noctis.

The free Assassin’s Festival DLC will be released for Final Fantasy XV on the very next day. The DLC will transform the town of Lestallum and new activities will be available for players to participate in.

Assassin’s Creed Origins, the latest addition to this popular franchise, is going to be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 27th. It’s also going to be available at launch for the Xbox One X on November 7th.
